Fighting Cancer, One Family at a Time!

We are so happy to be a positive part of a family's life in the midst of their difficult time.  Through your contributions, we are paying it forward on your behalf to many families during their time of need.  Each and every story is touching in its own way.  Please check in occasionally on these families to follow their progress.  Keep them all in your prayers.

Haven Lawson

At the age of three months Haven was diagnosed with bilateral retinoblastoma after doctor's told her parent's that Haven had a 50/50 chance of inheriting the gene from her Dad.  Laster treatments and chemo were administered six times.  When the treatments stopped the tumors had once again come back aggressively with seeds attached to them.  At this time Haven would be referred to two other doctor's in New York that they go every 4 weeks to have her examined.  Dr.  Abrahamson then gives them the updates on the tumors and if they are shrinking or the seeds are being killed.  At this time her right eye has very limited images, probably only seeing shadows and the left eye is remaining with sight.  It is the doctor's hope and desire to save both of her eyes as well as her vision.  She is a little fighter and all the nurses and doctors have fallen in love with her.  Haven is now 2 years old and still sees the doctor's in New York every 4-6 weeks.  Please keep Haven and her family in your thoughts.  For more inormation on retinoblastoma: http://www.webmd.com/cancer/tc/eye-retinoblastoma-treatment-patient-information-nci-pdq-general-information-about

Tunisia Davis

Meet Tunisia. We had the honor of helping her while she fights so bravely to beat Breast Cancer. She's a single mom who works two jobs 7 days a week to try to stay on top of her bills while fighting this disease. It is because of your generous donations and participation in our events that we were able to help Tunisia with her bills and give her more time to focus on her health. Thank you so much for helping us do what we do! We are praying for you Tunisia!

Tondaleia Davis

When Tondaleia was 35 years old she was diagnosed with breast cancer.  She has a strong family history of breast cancer including her Mom that was diagnosed at the age of 23 and she passed away at the early age of 32.  Her aunt, her mother's sister, was diagnosed at the age of 21 and passed away at 44.  Her first cousin, her aunt's daughter, was diagnosed at the age of 32 and she is now a four year survivor.  After returning from spring break vacation with her children Tondaleia started experiencing some pain in her right breast, which is how she found the lump.  She went in and had her first ever mammogram, ultrasound, MRI, and biopsy.  On April 29, 2014 she received the news that it was indeed breast cancer.  All is she could think about was her kids.  She had a double masectomy on  May 27, 2014 and recontructive surgery.  She started her first round of chemo July 1, 2014 and had 16 weeks of treatment ahead of her.  She is determined to beat this illness.  "I may have cancer, but cancer does not and will not have me.  I am a winner!"
